Get to the Visitors Centre
Plan your visit to the Visitors Centre De Kennemerduinen.
By car
Use the Google maps to plan your trip.
From Heemstede: go in the direction of Alkmaar along the western N208 ring road. Take the Overveen exit and, in Overveen, cross the railway tracks, take the 3rd exit on the roundabout (Militairenweg) and drive straight through the next roundabout (Zeeweg) towards Bloemendaal aan Zee. After 200 metres, turn right towards the Koevlak car park. From the car park, walk towards the dunes where you will see the visitors’ centre on your left-hand side.
From Haarlem and Alkmaar: on the western ring road (N208) take the Bloemendaal exit by the ice rink. This is Kleverlaan. Cross the railway crossing and, at the end, turn left on to Bloemendaalseweg. Take the first right at the roundabout (Militairenweg, later Zeeweg N200). At the next roundabout, go straight through. After 200 metres, turn right towards the Koevlak car park. From the car park, walk towards the dunes where you will see the visitors’ centre on your left-hand side.
Parking
There is paid parking at the Koevlak car park next to the visitors centre. The first half hour is free. The day rate is equal to the rate for 4 hours. The car park has a maximum of € 8 a day. You can pay with your debit or credit card.
By public transport
By bus
Connexxion, line 81 from the Haarlem train station towards Zandvoort (or from Zandvoort towards Haarlem). Stop: De Kennemerduinen on Zeeweg. The stop is several metres away from the entrance to the Koevlak car park, behind which the visitors’ centre can be found. Use this website to plan your bustrip.
By train
Use www.ns.nl to plan your train ride to Overveen station. It is about a 15-minute walk from this train station. From the station, walk towards the left on to Tetterodeweg and take the 2nd right on to Kweekduinweg. Cross Militairenweg and turn left. Militairenweg turns into Zeeweg at the roundabout. Turn right at the Koevlak entrance. The visitors centre is behind the car park.
